Ah yes, the highway racer special! Unique both in looks and dynamics. Unlike the 5.0 HO cars that had linear power delivery, these had the characteristic on/off switch. Even with yearly improvements (I think these got some form of SEFI in '85 or '86, which added both power and ease of maintenance/keeping running right), these never sold well or really caught on. Which is a shame, because they're pretty cool. They're different from the Mustang we know and love without being dumb. Proved that you could throw an I4 turbo into a Mustang and still go fast.

It's not all good though. While I do like the shape of that hood scoop, I don't like how its offset and off center on the hood. Why isn't it in the very middle of the hood!?! It totally tweaks my automotive OCD and my general need for symmetry. Turbo Trans Am and 2nd gen RX-7s use offset hood scoops too.... they throw off otherwise very pretty looking cars!
