That's wild. Genuine CSX's like this one go for high 6 to low 7 figures. Between the sky-high performance for their era and the racing successes associated with them, I can see why. See some parallels with the Viper here, with the long hood, short deck, wide hips, hilarious afterthought side windows, and emphasis on all-out performance. Shelby designed the early Vipers though so this should come as no surprise!

The Viper was intended from the start to be a modern Shelby Cobra. ;)

I actually saw one of these in person 4 years ago in the Wal Mart parking lot. It was yellow with a black stripe down the middle and the two cooling fans were exposed.

It probably wasn't a real one if you saw it at Walmart.  There are lots of kits, and some of them are quite good.

Great movie! :D

I know it's the Ferrari instead of the Cobra, but: "Whats-a behind Me is not important!"

Let us not forget Lapchik, the mad Hungarian riding through the desert in his tattered clothing getting mooned by the guy in the station wagon!

Indeed, a scene I was quite surprised to see left in when broadcast some years back on Speed Channel.
